Iphone repair, Samsung repair, or repair of any kind of phone requires skills that any good phone repair technician should have. However, as a technician, you must have certain skills and methods that you apply in your work that puts you apart from other technicians in the same market. As a beginner, you will develop your own methods, systems, and ways of doing things. You should choose systems and ways of working that actually work for you. Everybody is unique in their own small ways and as such, you should never try to mimic systems that someone else is using in the business. Your mentor may be a big influence in how you end up doing everything in the business for the rest of your career.
Here are some tips that you should keep in mind while working as a beginning technician.
You should have all the necessary tools
The first tip to success as a phone repair technician is having all the tools you need to get the job done. Having the right tools ensures that you complete your work fast and within schedule so that you don’t end up disappointing your customers. With the right tools, you are able to be efficient and avoid mistakes and errors that emanate from the use of wrong tools. You should use the right tool to do the right job at all times. If you have people helping you in your shop, then you will have tools in multiples to match the number of independent work stations you have.
For expensive tools that you can’t afford to buy in multiples, you can set up only one or two stations with such tools. Such tools are usually used for specialized tasks and are not needed frequently.
While Dismantling
When dismantling a phone, always use the right tool for the task you are doing. For instance, ensure that the screwdriver you are using matches the screw you are using it on so that you don’t damage the screw. Have a magnet mat to place your screws on so that they don’t get lost and don’t mix screws from one phone with those from other phones.
As you dismantle, it is very important that you pay great attention to the process because you will have to do it in reverse when reassembling the phone once you are done with repairing it. If you miss anything, you may end up wasting a lot of your time to figure it out.
Be careful with the LCD because it is very delicate and it can break easily and put you in trouble with your customer.
Replacing all the screws back
Many technicians usually end up missing screws when they have to piece the phones they have dismantled back together. Or they realize after the phone is all reassembled that they have a few extra screws they can’t figure out where they fit. To avoid this, just be careful with your reassembly. Keeping your workstation clean can make your job a little easier.
